ELF is Early Literacy Fun, a 4-5 week literacy and numeracy programme we run for New Entrants, in addition to their three school visits. It is designed to help your child develop their early literacy and numeracy skills, as well as gain confidence in the school environment. It is also designed to introduce parents/caregivers to our style of classroom teaching, and to give ideas about what you might focus on at home with your child.
During each session, your child will take part in activities such as:
Reading and sharing books together
Learning new rhymes and poems
Alphabet games and activities
Handwriting
Counting and numeracy activities
Exploring the classroom space
ELF is on offer approximately 6 weeks before your child's birthday. It is taught by our New Entrant teachers on Wednesdays from 2.00pm – 2.45pm. To sign up, please contact the school office. You will need to be able to stay with your child during each session—and we ask that you not bring any other pre-schoolers.
