New Entrants ELF Programme

ELF is Early Learning Fun, it is a 3 week programme we run for New Entrants and their whānau, this is in addition to three ‘in class’ visits. It is designed to help you and your child become familiar with our school and the classroom environment. During these sessions you will see and gain ideas on what happens in the classroom and how you can help at home.

During each session, your child will take part in activities such as:
  • Reading and sharing books/poems together
  • Learning literacy or numeracy games
  • Use of our educational apps on our ipads
  • Music and movement
  • Alphabet and number puzzles/activities
  • Using pencils, scissors and glue sticks for learning and creativity
  • Using and exploring the classroom space

ELF is on offer approximately 6 weeks before your child’s start date. It is taught by our New Entrant teachers. You will receive an email regarding these dates. You will need to stay with your child during each session - and we ask that you not bring any other preschoolers.
