The Hokowhitu School Board has agreed to opt in to the government’s school donations scheme. This means that Hokowhitu School will not request a donation in 2022 from families/whānau for anything related to the core curriculum. Families do not have to pay for digital devices, or for school trips that contribute to the curriculum.
We will request a donation for school camp/overnight stays because its cost exceeds the government’s donation payment. We endeavour to minimise the cost as much as possible through fundraising by the PTA, and by applying for grants. We do need as many families as possible to pay their donation for these activities or we will be unable to afford to run them. At the same time, we are committed to ensuring that no child will be prevented from participating in these activities due to financial need.
Families/whanau will have to pay for uniform, stationery, and sports activities that occur outside of school hours.
