At the Board meeting earlier this week our Board reluctantly accepted the resignation of Mrs Helen Griffin who has decided to go into early ‘semi - retirement’. Helen has been in the Deputy Principal/ Learning Support Coordinator role here for a little over 7 years. Many of our ākonga have benefitted from Helen’s expertise and passion - particularly in learning support across all year groups, AND in early and emergent learning. Helen has also sagely mentored/guided/supported both teaching and support staff too - she will be sorely missed.
We will formally farewell Helen at the end of Term 2. HOWEVER, it will not be goodbye as we’ve already extracted a promise from her that Hokowhitu School will be top of her list for relief and/or part time mahi!
Such great news for you and your whānau Helen.
The Board will soon be advertising for a new Learning Support Coordinator, and an Assistant Principal to form the senior leadership team.
