Excitement is abound here at school as we have our final days of preparation for next Thursday’s Major Production - ‘Hokowhitu School Celebrating 100 Years’. This is an example of us working towards our fourth strategic goal : Enhancing ākonga wellbeing by encouraging participation in physical activity and performance arts
Each kete has (or will be) sending home any final reminders, so do check school bags for these. Some of the important reminders include:
returning the permission slip to allow bus transportation to the Regent Theatre for the rehearsal
checking which entry point to meet for each kete (arrival time is 6.05 - 6.15pm)
MOST kete are requesting the tamariki arrive in their costumes and WITHOUT shoes/socks
come to below the stage area to collect your tamariki WHEN their kete is released, they will not be released by themself
please contact the office BEFORE next Friday morning to let us know if your whānau will be arriving at 10am on Friday (we do not have the capacity to contact everyone to check on safety)
Have you purchased your tickets? Every child at our kura has the opportunity to appear on the stage of the Regent Theatre next Thursday 26th September. This biennial event is an exciting opportunity to showcase the performing arts and gives the tamariki the chance to perform in front of a large audience.
(Reminder we are not selling tickets in the school office, they can ONLY be purchased through the Regent Theatre). If you are buying ONLINE, click on “Find Tickets” and then on the right is “FIND BEST AVAILABLE”.
There is NO cost for Hokowhitu students who are performing on stage.
