We hope the pool will open sometime next week. We are very fortunate to have our own swimming pool on site at our kura. Many schools need to bus their tamariki to public facilities to learn safe water practice and swimming skills.
Aotearoa New Zealand consists of islands surrounded by water and so learning to swim is potentially a ‘life saving’ skill.

Please send togs, towel (and goggles if required) to school in a waterproof bag each day. Sunsafe togs (or rash tops) are strongly recommended, as is sunscreen. The teachers will NOT ask the children to swim if conditions are not suitable, and they will never expect the children to stay in the water if they are feeling cold.
An email (or note) is requested if your child is unable to swim (due to medical reasons) on any given day.
