Excitement is building around our upcoming ‘Market Day’. Our inquiry topic this term is ‘Technological Taonga’ and so the ākonga are getting ready to design and make products to sell on the 11th September.
The older students are working on a business plan to ensure that whatever they are selling does show a profit - i.e. the costs to make the items must be less than what they sell for.
Every item will cost either $1.00 or $2.00. If you can send your child to school with a dollar or 2, they will be able to make a purchase. To keep things fair, NO ONE is allowed to bring more than $10.00 to school to spend. This is the maximum amount they can bring, it is absolutely fine to have less. Maybe your tamariki could be doing some extra chores to earn some money to spend?
Any profits made will be used for the end of year kete celebrations.
