What a fabulously ‘busy’ term this has been. There has been so much happening. Starting with the fantastic EOTC week early in the term to our Cultural Celebration Day today bringing together the learning we have done through the concept of Tūrangawaewae - the place where we feel especially empowered and connected. Tūrangawaewae is our foundation, our place in the world, our home. Students learnt about our place where we all stand together, Hokowhitu School. Then looked at places they and their peers feel connected too. It was great to see our students and teachers this morning walking around showing off something special from their culture and identity. Angela and Afokoula performed a beautiful Tongan and Samoan dance. TKM shared a Samoan Sasa and TKT performed a Dance. It was also lovely to see a number of our school Whānau staying to watch the celebration.
